another successful Eco-Salon

It was standing room only. The crowd was shoulder to shoulder at our fourth Eco-Salon -- but first at our new venue, Brocach. Thanks to Brocach for opening up their second floor for our monthly "think & drink" -- with the "drink" provided by New Glarus Brewery and Ale Asylum, and the "think" provided by Rebecca Ryan, CEO Next Generation, and Grant Abert from Slow Money Wisconsin.

The topic for the evening was "investing locally" -- a critical topic especially after the economic collapse was spurned on three years ago by subprime mortgages, failed get-rich-quick schemes and shady investors.  Rebecca Ryan has brought the idea for LION to Madison -- the idea of facilitating match-ups between interested investors with local entrepreneurs.  And, Grant Abert spoke about Slow Money, a relatively new concept about investing money into local food systems.

Please join us for our next Eco-Salon when we talk about "bike commuting"; the second Thursday of each month (May 12), Brocach, 6 pm.
