One of the most important ways to make your money support sustainable economies is to invest it into local businesses. Yes, that means shopping locally, but it also means good old fashion investing - providing money to smart startups and local entrepreneurs.
A growing movement, "slow money" is about investing locally - and about investing in products, goods and businesses that you can see, touch and interact with. It is more real than, say, Facebook.
