Read all about this year's Badger Bioneers! This is the third year Sustain Dane will be bringing the Badger Bioneer Conference to Madison, and we are delighted to announce that the conference will be happening in partnership with the UW-Madison Office of Sustainability and the Global Health Institute.
One look outside this summer has been enough to tell many folks that there are some serious issues that need dealing with, and fast. The good news is that Madison is a hotbed of creative and influential activity when it comes to creating sustainable modes of urban life. Whether we're talking about the economy, climate, energy, or the environment, Madison is remaining true to its roots as a trail-blazer.
The core of our December conference this year will be five TED-style talks from the individuals who best represent the major work being done in our region. We hope you're as anxious as we are to hear what each of these local heroes has to say.
ps. "Just what is a 'Bioneer?'" Join us over the next few months at Redamte Coffee House to screen talks from previous Bioneers, and join a national conversation about sustainability in our cities. Our next meet-up is Wednesday, August 22nd, at 7pm; we'll view a fantastic and engaging talk by Karen Brown of the Center for Ecoliteracy about educating young people about the Earth.
