Our Spring Trip to Denver

In late May, 3 Sustain Dane staff went to Denver to participate in an EPA training workshop. Little did we know just how inspiring it is to be named a Climate Showcase Community.
Madison is one of 25 communities to receive this 3 year grant, and 25 received it last year. From Cincinnati to Corvallis, we are 50 communities working “to create replicable models of cost-effective and persistent greenhouse gas reductions that will catalyze broader local and tribal government actions to stabilize the climate and improve environmental, economic, health, and social conditions.”
In non EPA talk those named Climate Showcase Communities are on the cutting edge, all working towards the same goal, but using many different approaches, to make where we call home more sustainable and increase the quality of life for all.
Each project is (or will become) a unique model that we can all learn from and we look forward to periodically sharing inspiration and highlights from other climate showcase grant recipients.
