Badger Bioneers is an annual conference held in Madison, Wisconsin that coalesces a cross-section of society to explore sustainability and social innovation through keynote talks, facilitated discussions, and workshops. Sustain Dane hosts the event in partnership with the University of Wisconsin Office of Sustainability. Over 200 people participated in the event in 2012.
Badger Bioneers 2013 presented two key themes: design thinking and sustainability communication. With considerable deliberation and investigation, we decided to focus on these two themes as they are fundamental to the success of sustainability champions everywhere. Design thinking and sustainability communication are powerful, emerging ideas that expose new ways of understanding how we can collaborate and innovate to solve complex challenges and how we can effectively move others toward lasting behavioral change. Badger Bioneers participants will explore these two cutting-edge themes through distinguished speakers sessions, including skills-building exercises and challenges.
The post-conference reception honors our 2013 Badger Bioneers as a separate event and is open to the public. Help us celebrate the inspiring work of our three Badger Bioneers, selected by our Badger Bioneers Advisory Council, and strengthen your connections with fellow sustainability champions.
Badger Bioneers is a Bioneers Network Event, one of 18 locally organized, satellite conferences around the country that showcase videos and keynotes from the national Bioneers Conference.
