Badger Bioneers is the Madison Region's premier forum for business, academic, and civic leaders to come together around a common goal: a brighter, more sustainable future for our region. This year's theme of "disruption: embracing change for a sustainable world" will engage participants in exploring disruptive solutions and envisioning new possibilities to make a more sustainable future possible - faster.

9:30 AM \ The Future of Sustainability with Rebecca Ryan, Next Generation Consulting

Rebecca Ryan will lead a 2+ hour workshop on Futuring, teaching participants the tools of strategic foresight (sometimes called “Futuring”) so that they can anticipate changes and respond accordingly. Participants will learn STEEP analysis, Scenario Development, Issue prioritization…and more!

11:45 AM \ Local Spotlight: Chris Kucharik, Yahara 2070

Chris Kucharik will speak about Yahara 2070, a project that uses a set of 4 scenarios about the Yahara Watershed in the year 2070 to help people better understand the range of potential changes in the region’s ecosystem. This information will help communities and decision makers prepare for change and work toward a desirable future.

Learn about and celebrate the amazing work of our 2014 Badger Bioneers: Annette Miller, Caryl Terrell and Jen Voichick.

2:30 PM \ Distinguished Speaker Session: Roald Gundersen, Whole Trees

Roald Gundersen will speak about his company Whole Trees which re-brands round timber for urban and commercial environments in place of steel. By sharing his vision and experience with Whole Trees, Roald will give a firsthand account of how innovative thinking can lead to improved environmental, social and economic outcomes.

3:30 PM \ National Bioneers Keynote: John Warner

4:15 PM \ Distinguished Speaker Session: Sara Ansell, City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program

Sara Ansell will speak on the transformative power of art through sharing her work with Porch Light, a highly collaborative program that brings together government agencies, non-profits and organizations to improve public health and strengthen the social fabric of the city. Porch Light uplifts public art as an expression of community resilience and a vehicle of personal and com­munity healing.
