Embedding Sustainability in Strategy and Operations:
with Ian Gurfield - Founder, Ian’s Pizza, Batch Bakehouse, Gotham BagelsJeff Lenz - President & CDO, The North Central Group

Ian Gurfield’s passion are entrepreneurship, food and travel. Ian’s first two passions fueled him to co-found Ian’s Pizza, Batch Backhouse and Gotham Bagels. On his own time, Ian has travelled across the world and visited a diversity of countries including India, Singapore, Morocco and Bhutan. Ian spent five years of his early childhood in Brazil before his family ultimately settled down in Massachusetts. He is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts – Amherst where he studied Economics and Philosophy. He lives on the East side of Madison and when he’s not working, he attempts to keep up with his beautiful and energetic wife.

Jeff Lenz is President & Chief Development Officer of The North Central Group (NCG), a premier developer, owner and operator of upscale select service hotels. NCG manages over 25 hotels located in the Southwest and Midwest. Jeff is responsible for the overall development, construction and renovation of all new hotels within NCG  portfolio. In January of 2009, NCG formally established The Green Team, a committee of corporate and hotel property team members engaged in bringing sustainable efforts of development and management companies together into a cohesive unit.
