I made a commitment to eat less meat, which in all honesty, wasn’t a huge commitment in many ways because I only eat meat once in awhile. But it has made me consider going full vegetarian, and also about what products I purchase that extend beyond simply eating meat. I’m surprised with how a small commitment has made me question larger life choices. I have more questions than answers: How do I feel about eating some meat, or certain types of meat, and how often? How does supporting dairy farming in WI play into my choices to eat cheese, milk, butter and does this have any relationship with eating meat? How can I support regenerative ag in more ways? How committed am I and why or why not? How can I talk to my kids and my family about this? What is the intersection with energy use, methane production, and water use and quality? Sometimes asking yourself questions is the beginning of real change.
